Credit Card Payment Surcharges Removed from 1 October 2026

From 1 October 2026, surcharges on Visa, Mastercard, American Express and eftpos payments will be removed in line with updated Reserve Bank of Australia payment regulations.

Action required: Octane users who currently apply card surcharges to customers should update their surcharge settings to 0% before 1 October 2026, including any individual customer overrides. No action is required if you do not apply card surcharges. Symbio invoice payments made by card will also no longer incur a surcharge from this date.
